All Falcon fans are invited to the Boosters monthly meeting. Each month we receive an update on the state of the CB Athletic Department from A.D. Jill Bennett along with a guest speaker from the Falcon coaching ranks. Come to the monthly meeting to learn about our teams. Get involved in CBHS Boosters to support CB athletics.

**In keeping with the Boosters move under the Athletic Department's umbrella, the monthly Boosters meeting will no longer be held in Bertram Hall but will be in the new Coaches' Office which is located in the portables behind Limeberger Gymnasium, next to the Varsity Baseball field. Those attending the meetings may park in the back parking lot so long as the gates are open.

FALCONS 2009 FALL SPORT PLAYOFF PICTURE

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: The Falcons stormed into the CIF San Joaquin Section Division IV playoffs as the #1 seed. Following three game victories over Hilmar and Legrand. On Tuesday, November 17th on the Christian Brother's Campus the Lady Falcons then swept #4 seed Escalon before their faithful fans. CB then earned its fifth straight San Joaquin Section Division IV title at U.C. Davis on November 19th in a 3-2 nail-biter over Ripon. The Lady Falcons entered the Northern California Championships as the #1 seed and with the all-important home court advantage. After a first round cruise to victory over Sutter H.S., CB faced its most serious Division IV challenge this season from Sacred Heart Prep, falling behind two games to zip. In one of the most incredible come-from-behind rallies in Brothers history, the Falcons took three straight to advance. They took the momentum from that win into the Norcal Final, easily defeating Ripon, a familiar foe, 3-0 to take their third Norcal D-IV Championship in the last four years. Next up for the Falcons, a trip to U.C. Irvine to take on Southern California Champion La Jolla Country Day (34-1) on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at noon. If you can take the road trip, do so to support this fabulous, record breaking team as they seek to bring a state championship banner back to Northern California. If you can’t get to Irvine on Saturday to cheer our girls on in person, you can still listen to it by going to www.cifstate.org and clicking on the link: Listen to the State Championships which will take you directly to KBCSports which will be broadcasting the match. FOOTBALL: The Falcons three game winning streak, including a victory over Vista Del Lago in their SVC finale, propelled CB to a 2nd place finish in the SVC and an automatic playoff birth in the CIF San Joaquin Section Division II Playoffs. Despite being the smallest school playing in Division II, the Falcons entered the playoffs as the #9 seed. They fell to #8 seed Del Oro in the first round of the Division II playoffs, 42-13. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for a fine season which saw the Falcons earn a Division II playoff birth for the fourth time in the past five years!

GIRLS GOLF: The Falcons took the momentum from a great regular season and stormed through the playoffs, placing third at the Division II Section Tournament at Lockeford Springs and third again at the CIF Masters Tournament at the Reserve at Spanos Park. The latter showing propelled them to a first-ever birth in the Norcal Tournament where the ladies played well, posting a tenth place finish at Almaden Country Club. What a year!

GIRLS TENNIS: The Lady Falcons had a tremendous year, being crowned the SVC co-champions. They advanced to the team tennis playoffs where they defeated Ceres before being were eliminated by Bella Vista in the second round. Congratulations girls on a great season!

CROSS COUNTRY: The Falcon Harriers have enjoyed another great campaign. At the November 7th Subsection Meet, both the Boys and Girls Varsity qualified and advanced to the Section Meet at Folsom. The following Saturday, the Boys placed second, advancing to the State Meet for the 4th consecutive year. Next, up for the Boys, the California State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park on Saturday, November 28, 2009. RUN BROTHERS, RUN!

CB's great season came to an end on 11.11.09 with a second-round loss to Bella Vista.

2. Madison McRonald and Clara Johnson defeated Rachel Stump and Christin Ornells 7-5,7-5 W

3. Alex Schrick and Cecelia Crotti defeated Ashton Frampton and Cailan Gaede 6-0,6-2 W

Christian Brothers Women's Tennis Team secured the 2009 SVL Co-Champion Title with a victory over Galt and will be heading to Team Playoffs beginning November 11th. Congratulations to Coach Stacey Griggs and all the members of our championship team! Way to go CBHS!!!!

CB's Girl's Golf qualified and advanced to the Nor Cal Championships to be held next Mon., Nov. 9 at Almaden Country Club in San Jose. This is a FIRST for CB's Girl's Golf.

CB was one of three sectional teams to advance out of 150 schools. Our SVC League came in 2nd, 3rd and 4th and CB beat Union Mine by one stroke to advance.

Calling all alumni! On each of the individual team sites there is a column listing Christian Brothers graduates who have gone on to compete in their sports in the college, semi-pro or professional ranks. The column lists the player, their year of graduation and where they played after leaving CB. Christian Brothers High School has a rich and storied athletic history. We know that there are many athletes over the decades who have followed up their high school careers by playing in college and even professionally. We are in the process of building each of these sports team history sites. While we have gathered some information, we need your help to make these lists complete and accurate. So, if you know of any CB graduate who continued to pursue their athletic dreams in any sport at the next level, email us their information through the "contact us" box below or by sending the information to jvvine@citlink.net With your help we can proudly display the athletic achievements and tradition that helps make Christian Brothers High School the very special Sacramento institution that it is.
